After last year’s success, year 1 are racing to grow an amaryllis in each class again.  The children have helped to plant the flowers and are looking after them each day by watering them and talking to them.  We are taking photos and will be comparing them at the end of term to see how we all did.

Year 1 have also become the crew of their own pirate ships.  We have been exploring different countries through geography and literacy and writing our own pirate stories.  We have created authentic treasure maps by coffee staining paper and learnt how to draw a key to make our maps accurate for other pirates to follow.
