‘Born Survivor’
In the spring term, the children in Year 6 have been learning about different hostile environments around the world. In geography the children have enjoyed finding out about the ‘Great White Continent’ of Antarctica and how different this is from their own locality. They have used a range of media to learn about the way in which animals and plants are adapted to live in Antarctica and in other hostile environments. This was further developed in Literacy lessons, where the children used their skills to write non-chronological reports.
In art, the children have explored landscapes and experimented with a range of materials to create their own compositions depicting their hostile environments.
